The speculations prevail in the market about the success rate of the Tizen operating system and will it be able to serve as a potential alternative? Samsung Z comes in a square design with hard instead of curved lines, covered in the leather stitch-style back as expected. You will get a 4.8 inch HD display with 720p Super AMOLED screen supporting Tizen operating system. The other specs of Samsung Z are a 2.3 GHz quad-core CPU with 2GB RAM, Snapdragon 800 with on board support of LTE Cat 4 (150/50 Mbps). It has a pair of 8MP and 2.1 MP rear and front cameras, fingerprint sensor, 16 GB internal memory with a 2600 mAh battery. The size of Samsung Z will be 5.44 x 2.74 x 0.33 inches and weight 4.8 oz. The operating system is Tizen OS 2.2.1, which includes Download Booster and S Health 3.0. Amazing specs isn’t it?
Similar to the other smart phones, this Tizen smart phone is packed with S apps. It will comprise of S Health, S Memo, S Voice, S Planner all you can think of. The user interface and design will be almost the same like other Galaxy smart phones. You will hardly find differences between this device and other Samsung phones.
The developers have previously prolonged developing ground breaking system for iOS, Android and Windows Phone; you shouldn’t expect to get the latest and greatest apps on this device in near future. The Tizen developer community is growing, but the community is still small. Tizen system is already on the Gear watches, in home appliances and a Smart TV prototype, but until the platform has expanded a mobile device, the app experience cannot be considered to be acceptable.
The price of Samsung Z is still speculated as nothing officially came from the company. You have to wait to find out the actual price till the launch.
The launch of Samsung Z is expected be in Russia first, and later it will roll on other territories depending on the circumstances. The UK or USA release is not officially confirmed yet as the strategy says it all. To mark the launch of the world’s first Tizen smart phone and to support more developers to join, the Tizen Store will provide a special promotional programme to all developers for a year. In addition, Samsung plans to host a Tizen local app challenge in Russia and CIS countries at the launch occasion.
For the company, the Samsung Z depicts that Tizen is a good start, but it still has a long way to go before it becomes a competitor.
