HTC One has unveiled its latest variant of Vogue Edition (M8 Ace) labeled as HTC One E8, another sibling in the HTC One series after HTC M8. HTC One in Dubai is still not a reality, as the tech-savvy Emiratis wait anxiously for the brand new HTC gadget.
If we talk about its basic features and technical specs, it comes in a light weighted device, 5 inch screen with 1080p display, Ultra pixel camera for a 13 MP shooter, Android 4.4.2 (KITKAT) with Sense 6, and Snap dragon 801 processor with plastic body. It has excellent Boom sound speakers enough to blow your senses.
HTC One (E8) has a plastic body with dual curve a bit thicker with 9.9 mm instead of 9.4 mm but lighter to 145 g instead of 160 g. It has almost 2.3 GHz CPU or 2.5 GHz from the One Vogue Edition, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of storage memory with micro SD cards of up to 128 GB.
HTC One E8 is official in Asia and Pacific but is still waiting to launch in Dubai. The phone is effectively aimed at providing the M8 at lower point with two major differences of Duo cam 4MP + 2MP camera module to 13MP module and plastic unified body. The matt finish looks much better for the long run, as the glossy finish tends to have more scratches. The strategy of bringing in the plastic body is a trick also applied by Apple in its iPhone 5c, which is slightly cheaper version of iPhone 5s’ metal and glass body.
If we analyze the F/2.2 aperture of the module, it is the same one found in the one mini 2 with OV 13850 sensors. The use of plastic body is cost cutting strategy as metal body is although good from an MD/ID perspective, the cost can be an order of magnitude greater than plastic designs. The price of HTC E8 in Dubai is still not clear, until the product is finally official.
HTC has taken the decision to come up with three colors this time red, blue, white, and black, a vibrant handy phone. Technically HTC cut too deep on the loss of 802.11 ac Wi-Fi capabilities sharing the same Wi-Fi module like that of One Mini 2. It has almost most of the same features like in One Mini 2, rather than skimping the price down. E8 also gets its own line of dot view cases making you see the basic information in fun dot matrix style without unleashing the cover.
HTC has not reached the UAE market to launch E8. The point is that if it arrives in Dubai, would the users be interested in buying the budget version of M8 instead of it? However, the launch of HTC One E8 in Dubai is still a buzz in town.
