The Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority is all set to officially announce plans to establish the largest entrepreneurship centre named as Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre in the region of Mena within Dubai Silicon Oasis.
The Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre will comprise of over 3,600 sqm that is set to provide emerging and established high-tech entrepreneurs and start-ups with a highly motivating and efficient work environment in collaboration with entrepreneurial activities that can enhance the creativity of technology enthusiasts. The launch of DTEC in 2015 is announced tentatively.
According to a statement by chief financial officer of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, all efforts are utilized to introduce innovation that can enable entrepreneurs to take brainstorm ideas taking them to the next level. He further expressed his hope that the launch of Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship will be beneficial for the economy at aggregate level with integration of local and regional talent into the country’s workforce by converting the innovative ideas of talented individuals into reality. The support of DSOA is can make the dream come true in the form of largest entrepreneurship centre in Mena. The experts claim that the DTEC will become the largest entrepreneurship center in the North African and Middle Eastern region.
The launch of DTEC in Dubai will be based on DSOA’s success i.e. Silicon Oasis Founders launched in April 2012 in order to promote entrepreneurial talent in the sector of IT. It offers emerging entrepreneurs an opportunity to advance their business activity by mentoring, consultancy networking opportunities, and work space facilities. The Silicon Oasis Founders has supported the innovative business ideas of almost 200 entrepreneurs, along with the investment decision in two additional companies. The portfolio of technology companies receiving financial support in 2014 is expected to grow.
The significant insight and experience gained along with the entrepreneurial requirements are able to facilitate the successful ventures that can evolve into autonomous organizations operating in Dubai and other parts of Middle East creating job opportunities for locals and residents of UAE.
The initiative of the Dubai government, Dubai Silicon Oasis comprises of the distance of 7.2 square kilometers of office towers, research and development, industrial zones and educational institutions. The leading brands like Western Digital, AMD, SAP, Fujitsu, Synopsys, Corning and Germany’s Porsche have subsidiaries in one of the 21 business free zones of the Gulf Arab emirate, the DSO.
